If you haven’t joined the Homeschool Buyers Co-op yet, do it now!
I’ve been a member for a very long time. There is no charge to join, but if you decide to purchase any of the advertised (and generally deeply discounted) curricula or educational supplies, there is typically a very small fee (as in $5 or so).
For example, one of my children uses Thinkwell for math curricula. Normally, Thinkwell math courses cost about $125. When I go through the Homeschool Buyers Co-op, I can purchase the exact same course for around $65.
In addition, the co-op offers a really good online schoolwork planner called Homeschool Planet. You can get a free trial at the link. It’s flexible and includes options for assigning chores and sending reminders to your kids’ phones.
But I wanted to let everyone know that the co-op is running a summer special…free music lessons online through eMedia Music! Take a look: free summer music lessons through eMedia Music.
We signed up right away. You can learn guitar, piano, voice (even classical voice! opera!), violin, and electric guitar. I may be forgetting something–there are beginner and intermediate levels for some of these. We are so excited! One of my daughters has been teaching herself guitar via YouTube lessons, but we noticed right away that eMedia addresses some issues that we hadn’t thought about, like how to string a guitar.
If we get good results, we’ll upload a video at the end of the summer!
I believe that after August, you can sign up for a subscription at roughly $20/month. That’s still not much if you can access all of these different instruments, which you can with the free plan.
